Sometimes, we all need a moment away from our busy lives. We need to step out, breathe different air, and refresh our view of the world.
I tried to write this week. Honestly, I did.
It’s hard to write a book. It’s even more difficult to write a book well−the perfect word at the right time.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been editing our second novel, The Price of Pandemonium. Mostly taking the comments from our beta-readers into consideration, and making minor changes based on this.
When Sarah and I first started working on our novels, the prospect of sending our work off to our first readers was daunting.
I sit here, writing this blog post, having just started my last chapter in the third book of our series; Darkness, Set us Free.
One of the bonuses of being in a strictly enforced lockdown with no where to go, no one to visit, and nothing to do (except attempt to work from home) is the sudden windfall of time on my hands.
How do you write about a place you’ve never been to? How do you convey the distinctive feeling and atmosphere of somewhere unfamiliar?
